May 2008
Once again two wines of the Espíritu de Chile brand family were honoured for their outstanding quality. The Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 received a gold medal at the influential competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, 2008, the 2007 Shiraz-Cabernet a silver medal.
Thousands of premium wines and spirits from around the world were being tasted in this year’s Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, a renowned international wine and spirits competition. All products were blind-tasted and assessed by a cosmopolitan panel of 220 renowned śnologists, sommeliers and journalists.
The Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 is a rich, dark-red Cabernet Sauvignon that captivates with its dense and seamlessly harmonious structure. The jury especially esteemed its aromas of blackcurrants, wild berries and elderberries which are harmoniously complemented with a delicate touch of vanilla. 12 months maturation in oak gave the wine an elegant note of wood, a distinctive character and a long-lasting finish.
All Espíritu de Chile wines originate from the Chilean Valle Central and are carefully selected according to severe quality criteria before treated by chief winemaker Jon Usabiaga.
