Espíritu de Chile captured an excellent third place in a competition for the best wine label in Europe. The label of the Chilean wine range was already placed among the top ten labels in Europe during the preliminary round.
Prior to the final round of voting, all wines were tested and approved by the editorial board of VINUM magazine. Then, 5,122 wine lovers cast their final votes via on-line voting, and the final winner—Dirk van der Niepoort’s 2005 „Fabelhaft“ from the Douro-Valley—received 1,528 votes. Second and third place went to the Saint Clair label from New Zealand and to the Espíritu de Chile label, respectively.
Award trophies will be presented as part of the award ceremonies of the wine competition awc Vienna in Vienna’s city hall on October 30. Nearly 6,000 wines participated in this year’s competition, and Espíritu de Chile confirmed its outstanding quality with one gold medal and six silver medals.
Central to the appearance of Espíritu de Chile’s award-winning label is its key visual: the golden symbol of the sun, which brings to mind the ancient civilizations of the Andes and symbolizes the significant cultural heritage of Chile. Espíritu de Chile is thus firmly grounded in the great traditions of its country of origin, while conveying at the same time a modern and contemporary lifestyle and a commitment to quality.
