MONDE SELECTION INTERNATIONAL WINE CONTEST 2007, FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR ESPIRITU DE CHILE
04.2007
Two times silver and one time bronze – these are the results for ESPIRITU DE CHILE at this year’s Monde Selection International Wine Contest 2007, one of the most prestigious and influential wine competitions worldwide.
ESPIRITU DE CHILE Gran Reserva Merlot 2005 and Gran Reserva Carménčre 2005 were both honoured with silver. Both medals further enhance the brand’s positioning as excellent wine quality available for an outstanding price. The bronze medal was given to Espíritu de Chile Gewürztraminer 2006. Espíritu de Chile Gran Reserva Merlot is currently only available in the German market, the two other varietals – Gewürztraminer and Carménčre Gran Reserva – are exported to all markets, such as for example Great Britain and Ireland.
The acknowledged Merlot of the Gran Reserva range convinced the jury with pleasant fruit and well-balanced tannins. Delicate aromas of vanilla are completed with hints of black cherry, chocolate and mint. Maturation in barrique barrels further supports the elegance and finesse of this wine.
With Belgium been an important reference market in the wine business, the wine challenge in Brussels is seen as ideal test market for international success. Monde Selection represents one of the oldest and most influential organisations in terms of quality examination and has been established as official institution by the Belgium government already in 1961. Each year an international and unbiased jury of top representatives of the wine business is gathered for this important wine judgement. All results can be seen at www.monde-selection.com in the category Wine Results 2007.
